Everyone’s a Psychic, could you be a Medium? 28 September 2019 – Posted in: Reflections – Tags:

Have you ever wondered what being (a) psychic consists of? Do you wonder if you have the ability? People often flippantly say things like, “You must be psychic…” or “Are you reading my mind…” Equally, you may have been thinking of someone you haven’t seen or heard from for a while and out of the blue, they contact you. Could it be a coincidence or something else?

I am convinced everyone has a psychic ability. How psychic you are is another matter! For some people their psychic ability is so strong – naturally inherent, so much so that it can be considered ‘normal’ to them. It certainly was and still is for me. For others, their ability might be good but it might be spontaneous, random or uncontrollable. Some may be using a form of psychic ability but don’t recognise the experience as such. For example, I’ve heard businessmen and women in the corporate workplace speaking in terms of, “my gut says…”.  Funny they should say that — Clairsentience translates to Clear-Feeling.  Clairsentience is felt through the solar plexus.

Here’s another coincidence, or is it? In the human nervous system structure, there is a complex network (spaghetti junction) of nerves. This high concentration of nerves is in the solar plexus! Think about this. If someone hurts your feelings, where do you feel it? When you are nervous, when you are excited or emotional, when we know something is wrong or not right especially if it is to do with ourselves or someone close to us. We actually feel it in the solar plexus which is above the stomach, but when it is strongly felt it can feel like it’s also in the stomach.

We have sayings like – sick to my stomach, I feel it in my gut, trust your instincts…  coincidence? I think not. For other people, the psychic ability might not be very strong, this might be because it is suppressed through beliefs, whether it be religious, scientific or otherwise. Sometimes it only surfaces when something dramatic happens. Often parents will get an overwhelming feeling something is wrong with their children, or partners feel it about the other, twins, anyone that has a close emotional bond will have had these experiences and it’s always felt in this area of the body.

Psychically and mediumistically, emotions are felt through the solar plexus. The clairsentient ability does also extend into the auric field. This is how people get a sense of someone or a place. We’ve all heard about how we are ‘judged’ in the first 3 seconds (or less) of meeting someone. It’s not just the feel of a handshake, if they smile or not, it’s also about how we feel about the person. How many times have you said; They seem nice but there’s something I can’t quite put my finger on that I just don’t trust (like) about them…? That is your psychic ability (gut instinct, intuition) at work.

Being psychic isn’t limited to feelings. It can come in the form of visions (Clairvoyance), sounds (Clairaudience), smell (Clairolfactory) and taste (Clairgustenance). All of these faculties are known as the Clair-senses and are also used in mediumship. However, not everyone is mediumistic. These are two different abilities.

A good phrase to remember is – All mediums are psychic, not all psychics are mediums. For clarity, psychics will be sensitive to the energy of another living person, animal, place or object. Mediums can do all of those things, however the craft of mediumship is being able to connect with and give evidence of a friend or relative who has died. Confusion is caused because mediums use the same Clair-senses to be aware of discarnate spirit (someone who has died) as they do incarnate spirit (a living person).

This is where things start to get even more complicated. There are many names and terms used for a psychic, which have been confused with those with mediumistic ability and visa-versa…; sensitive, intuitive, seer, soothsayer, prophet and oracle.

Then there are terms used which are in fact abilities within psychism, for example, crystal gazer – someone who uses crystals to gather information for the sitter. Crystals might also be used for healing. Prophesier – someone who is said to predict outcomes. Augur – this is a more ancient ability and is someone who reads and interprets signs in nature, including the weather, astrology and animals. Palmist – a person that interprets the lines on your hands. Tarot reader – a person who reads the meaning of tarot cards as they are laid out. All of these abilities may also be used in conjunction with any psychic capability they may have, which can be at varying levels between one to another.

If you’d like to develop your psychic and mediumistic ability to help empower your sitter, I will be doing a one day workshop on Saturday 16 November at the world-renowned Arthur Findlay College – click this link to read about it and book. If you’d like a more in-depth workshop on Mastering Private Sittings, I will be doing a 3-day workshop at Barbanell Centre on 3-5 April 2020, click here to read about it and book.
