Much ado about Trance Mediumship… Part I 10 October 2019 – Posted in: Reflections – Tags:

There is and has been for some time, a draw to trance mediumship. Which I find quite fascinating because the fundamental basis of it is philosophy. I hear many medium colleagues and spiritualists say ‘people don’t want philosophy they only want messages from loved ones’. There are other forms of trance mediumship – like trance healing and trance art (some of the more obvious ones) and trance communication – when a loved one of a recipient will speak either directly through the medium while the medium is in the trance state, or in-directly via the mediums trance control (otherwise known as Guide).

Why then are there so many mediums drawn to trance mediumship for speaking? Why is there not the demand for more Speaking Mediumship courses for the advancement of philosophy? Or is the demand out there but no one knows who to ask or where to go? Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE speaking mediumship. I’d do the Address in a Spiritualist service any and every opportunity, in fact I’d speak for the whole service if I could. It is a passion of mine and has been for many years. It was born out of my thirst for knowledge – why am I here, what’s the purpose of life…, and then my development of trance mediumship.  Once people have had the communication from their dear departed from the veil of death, what do we, as mediums, offer them next? Often they are left curious, what then is life about. What is their purpose, what really matters? Could they be psychic or a medium too? Knowing that our consciousness, our memories, our connection to the people we know and love still on earth after we have died, puts a different spin on this thing we call life.

I know through my own experience that, when doing private readings, a high percentage end up having some philosophy (speaking mediumship) in the reading; with the influence coming from a combination of their loved ones and my higher consciousness. It brings a different dynamic albeit brief in some cases, however developing the trance and speaking mediumship facility can enhance evidential mediumship readings. Of course, if the need in the reading is be purely evidential, then that is what it will be. Everyone is searching for something and if we as mediums in our service to our fellow man can serve their soul for a greater good. Then shouldn’t we be developing all aspects of ourselves and our mediumship?

Look out for Part II for more about trance and speaking mediumship.
